Grant Paulsen is an 18-year-old sports-journalist and broadcaster who's already an accredited member of the national media. Still a few years away from being old enough to drink, Paulsen has done and seen a lot in the broadcasting business.
The focal-point of a feature-story on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel", and the winner of the first-ever Cheez-It National Junior Sportscaster Search, Paulsen has already forged quite a résumé in the broadcasting business.
He's covered the Little League Word Series and a Super Bowl for ABC Sports; in fact, he's done three Super Bowls and two Little League World Series in total, among countless assignments and games. He has also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman six times.
Paulsen got his first break in the broadcasting business at just 10-years-old when his uncle, Scott Paulsen, a revered radio show host in Pittsburgh, asked Grant to pick football games on the air. The local paper in Grant's home county wrote a story about his weekly radio appearances and the rest as they say is history.
Today, Paulsen resides in Alexandria, Virginia and is a freshman attendee of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He hosts nationally broadcasted sports shows on XM Satellite Radio, and writes regular sports columns for the Free Lance Star in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
XM subscribers looking to hear Paulsen's shows can tune their dials to MLB Home Plate (XM175), or XM Sports Nation (XM143). In addition to writing weekly columns in the Star, Paulsen also serves as a freelance writer who has been published by Sports Illustrated for Kids and NFL.COM among other publications.
Paulsen has covered Washington Redskins football since 1999, and can also be found at Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals basketball games, Washington Wizards basketball games, and Washington Capitals hockey games.
Born and raised in the small county of King George, Virginia, Paulsen is your typical teenager. He enjoys watching and playing sports, and hanging out with friends. His favorite color is red, favorite food is Buffalo wings, and favorite movie of all time is Remember the Titans.
